Our Bridal Shoot at Shottle Hall

So earlier this year our pal Benjamin the Cinematographer talked us into shooting some bridalwear at the wonderful Shottle Hall. Ben shot the whole day and produced an awesome promotional video that you can see in the next post down, or here.

Thanks must also go to lots of our other friends, all experts, who put together all of the different elements of the day for us to photograph, including:

Mimi Toko BridalwearThe Greenery Florists, Tina from Beau HairBrigdens Menswear, our friends Catherine & Jack from Stanleys Model Agency.

Working almost entirely with just natural light most of the day, here are a few of my fave shots...

From big bay windows in the shot above above, to skylights in the shot below, lovely natural daylight is everywhere.

As it was February and freezing cold, we didn't spend long outside...

Below you will get an idea the work and effort put in to create this lovely shot showing off the Derbyshire countryside. It's also a rare shot of me (left) showing my best side, and not looking in to a camera.

Tina from Beau Hair working hard...

More beautiful natural light, this time in the library.

For the shots above and below we did help things along light-wise with a silver reflector or two.

We finished just as the light was fading in the Orangery with the most dramatic gown of the day. Catherine our model was lit with a single light, balanced so as not to overpower the lovely dusky blue light from outside, which helps to add a nice contrasting colour to the shot.
