Victoria & Andy's Wedding at Hazelwood Church & Shottle Hall

Still in Autumn (sorry, I know, I'm catching up) we got to visit Hazelwood Church and the beautiful Shottle Hall to spend the afternoon with Vicky & Andy. It was the second family wedding in a year I had shot for them, having also had the priveledge of being there for Vicky's twin sister's wedding the December before.

Everybody was getting themselves ready over at Shottle, so that was first the stop of the day.

Then it was soon time to make the short drive through the lovely Derbyshire countryside to Hazelwood, to meet the chaps.

Although we do love to show off our informal work on here, we still believe in capturing nicely posed, 'official' shots too, just like when the bridesmaids and Vicky's mum arrived.

We weren't short of chances for some great photojournalistic shots either though, especially of our new young friend, whom we got on really well with!

After the ceremony, and some fun with the confetti, we all made our way back to the hall, and I assembled everybody for one of my favourite shots, hanging out of the upstairs window.

Now with the amazing surroundings over at Shottle, I sometimes get some odd looks when I suggest to my Bride & Groom that we might want to visit the lovely, rickety old outbuilding usually tucked away out of view, but when we get results like these below, they come round to the idea quite quickly.

Sometimes it's good to turn your back on the obvious rolling hills and splendid gardens, and focus on some smaller details for a few minutes.

We made the most of the autumn sunshine with the shot below, filled in heavily with a fully zoomed in flash head.

We finished up with a couple of shots to show off the beautiful Orangery, just as everybody took their seats for the speeches and the meal.

And cupcakes.

All in all, an enthusiastic thumbs up all round!

Congratulations Vicky & Andy!
